Introduction

Multiple-choice questions are widely used for examination purposes as a most reliable and discriminatory test of factual knowledge on a subject. MCQs are used in competitive examinations in the field of medicine too, though medical knowledge is of more descriptive nature.

MCQ is considered as easy tool for assessment of a student’s understanding on a subject. However, lack of familiarity with the MCQ format may result in unexpected failure. More usually, a student’s failure to score from the answers of MCQs is attributed to lack of adequate reading and precise understanding of clinical medicine and basic sciences. Secondly, a student appearing for such competitive exam is already busy with hospital duties assigned to him. He finds it often difficult to decide how to make a beginning of preparations freshly for this exam, as available time for him is always falling short to cover such vast medical knowledge as also syllabus of the exam. He thereby becomes extremely nervous and starts loosing confidence.

To help a student to overcome these situations and also to help him to acquire the factual knowledge necessary for good medical practice later, more than ten thousand multiple choice questions from clinical as well as basic medical sciences are provided with detailed answers at this site. These are designed in such way that not only a student gets the precise answer; but at the same times, these questions and discussions on them stimulates his inquisitiveness to study the topic more in details.

A student can go to “Preparation” and choose either of “Basic Sciences” or “Clinical Subject”. He then gets access to the preparatory material on each subject in the form of MCQs, their answers, notes on the subject, diagrams wherever possible and also further references to the subject, all at the click of the mouse. Such preparation carried over the period of study makes him ready to take up a series of “Mock Exams” to judge how well he has prepared. He gets the score at the end of each such exam. He can keep the record of his score in such preparatory exams separately, by which he can estimate his progression in the study. This site is thus a thorough preparatory course for appearing for competitive entrance exam and also for the examinations such as DNB.

A continuous new addition to the contents progressively, to cover more recent knowledge, is also a feature of this site. The Registered User of this site thus gets many benefits.

This site will be also useful for practising doctors to stay in tune with the subjects at all times.
